Jermaine Jackson

was born on December 11, 1954, in Gary Indiana, to Joseph and Katherine Jackson. Jermaine was the original lead singer for the group, The Jackson Five. In 1967 his younger brother, Michael, became lead singer and co-singer with Jermaine for many years following. The group signed with Motown records in 1969. Their father, Joseph, was their manager. Jermaine co-sang parts of the songs, Iíll Be There, I Am Love, Dancing machine, and many others. Jermaine was also very successful as a solo singer. He had a hit in 1972 called, Daddyís Home, and it was the Shep and The Limelites Cover song. After the Jackson Five left Motown records Jermaine left the group and stayed with Motown. Jermaine was married to Hazel Gordy, the daughter of the Motown owner, Berry Gordy.

Jermaine was nominated for a Grammy Award for the Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for the 1979 album, Letís Get Serious. In the 1970's and 1980's he had several Hot 100 Top 20 Hits. Some of these were, Daddyís Home, Thatís How Love Goes, Letís Be Young Tonight, Bass Odyssey, Feel The Fire, Signed, Sealed, delivered, Isnít She Lovely, Letís Get Serious, Let Me Tickle Your Fancy, Dynamite, Do What You Do, and I Think Itís Love. He did a duet with his brother Michael called Tell me Iím Not Dreaminí. It hit number one on the dance chart in 1984. His duet with Pia Zadora in 1985, When the Rain Begins To Fall, topped the charts in Europe. Hit hit, Donít Take It Personal, was the number one hit on the Billboard R&B Singles Chart and it was Jermaineís last chart hit.

Jermaine can play the electric guitar, bass guitars, and can also dance well. He converted to Islam the religion after he had visited Bahrain in the 1980's. He has been married 3 times and has eight children. Jermaine is planning a stage show based on his family and it is to be released in the U. K. He stated also that the Jacksonís are recording an album and are planning a tour. The album is to come out late in 2007. It is recorded on his brother, Jackieís label. Jesco Records.

Jermaine went back to the U. K. In 2007 to be a part of the Channel 4 show, Musicool. He is also working on several charity projects. He has been working on projects to help the orphaned kids around the world. He has also appeared a lot on the Islam channel in the U. K. And he talks about his faith and he also announced several charity projects that he plans to start in the future.
