Scandalis a rock band which was formed in the 1981, in New York, by Zack Smith. Zack also wrote most of the bandís songs. The band was fronted by Patty Smyth. Other members of the band were Ivan Elias (bass guitar player), Keith Mack (guitar player), Jon Bon Jovi (guitar player briefly), Benjy King (keyboard player), Thommy Price (drum player), and Patty Smyth (vocalist). The bandís two biggest hits were, Goodbye To You, in 1982, and it reached number 65 in the U. S., and The Warrior, in 1984, and it reached number 7 in the U. S..
The band had great success for a short while but they had problems because of troubles among the members and also with their record company. The band slowly faded as member after member left. Smyth and Mack were the only two left by the time the tour for Road Warrior began in 1984. The band broke up shortly after the tour was over.
Ivan Elias passed away from cancer in June 1995. In 2004, Scandal reunited for VH1's Bands Reunited show. They performed a string of concerts on the U. S. East coast and performed in a show at Irving Plaza in New York City, on February 9, 2005. The band reunited again (this time without Thommy Price), in the summer of 2006, for VH1's, We Are the 80's tour. The band performed many shows which were mostly performed outdoors, and they gained a lot of attention with their performances. During the summer of 2007, they toured again and this time Zack Smith was not present.

They have released 2 albums (Scandal, in 1982, and The Warrior, in 1984), 2 compilations (Scandalous, in 1992, and We Are In the 80's, in 2006), 5 singles (Goodbye To You, in 1982, Loveís Got A Line On You, in 1983, The Warrior, in 1984, Handís Tied, in 1984, and Beat of the Heart, also in 1984. , and 5 music videos which were, Goodbye To You, Loveís Got A Line On You, The Warrior, Beat of A Heart, and Hands Tied.
Scandalís song, The Warrior, was featured in a mock ipod commercial shown in the sixth episode of Family Guy. The song was also featured on the radio station Flash FM in the video game, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. The Warrior was also featured in the Guitar Hero series, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80's.
