Donkey KongThe first game of Donkey Kong was released in 1981. Donkey Kong was a large, muscular, brown gorilla who appeared in the jungle. In 1994 there was a remake of the game and they put a red necktie (with a DK emblem on it) on Donkey Kong.Shigeru Miyamoto was the creator of the game and he named it because he related it to donkey because he thought of a donkey as stupid, so he thought of “Stupid Ape” and named his character as Donkey Kong. Other characters in the game was the Mario and Pauline (a heroine). The object of the Donkey Kong game is to for Mario to reach Donkey Kong where he is holding Pauline as a captive. In order to do this Mario has to avoid the barrels and other objects that Kong is throwing at him. This game is also has different, more difficult stages as the game progresses. The following year, Donkey Kong Junior was released. In this game Mario has taken Donkey Kong captive and has him locked in a cage and Kong Junior has to rescue him. In Donkey Kong 3 the character, Stanley, was introduced and took the place of Mario to fight Donkey Kong’s attempt to invade a greenhouse by using a horde of bees to accomplish it. Stanley has to keep the invasion from happening. Mario was given his own place in the spin-off game series Mario Bros. After Donkey Kong, the Mario Bros. Became the popular interest of the public on the Nintendo’s game pieces. In 1994 the Game Boy version of Donkey Kong was introduced and it re-emerged as a popular game. In 1994 there were other versions of Donkey Kong created and designed by Shigeru Miyamoto and was released in 3D format. One version was Donkey Kong Country which depicted a Cranky Kong and his cousin Diddy Kong who teamed up to try to retrieve a bunch of bannas that were stolen by a reptile named King K. Rool. Donkey Kong made a comeback again in 2004 when he was reunited with Mario in the 2004 Game Boy Advanced game. It was called Mario vs. Donkey Kong. In 2006 there was a sequel released called Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2. After that Nintendo released a series of games with Namco for the Nintendo Gamecube. It was called the Donkey Konga series. Drum Master, DK Jungle Beat, DK Barrel Blast, DK King of Swing, Donkey Kong Jungle Climber, are the names of the games. Donkey Kong has been one of the most popular series of games for the young and the old as well as the Mario series. |
